Hi guys I am an avid reader of Retrocars magazine have been a subscriber since issue 1 of the 1st incarnation. and have always loved the mag. here in Australia reto is a scence starting to go in the right direction.
my post here is about the articles on the 2 Morris Minors you covered in this issue (with one on the cover) you state in both article that these are fited with Fiats great little twincam (i used to own a lancia beta) Know please correct me if I am wrong but am i right is saying fiat never sold the motor (Lampredi Twin) in 16v guise ???
As only the Racing Arbath version got the 16v head and even i know here in Aus thats these are super rare!
I just hope this was an oversight (ablight a big one as its on the cover and 2 articles!) and that your articles are being checked for accuracy as i dont want another grat mag to go west with sub-standed detail.
regards Scott

Well, aparrently the engine was made until 1994, so I imagine the 16 valve ones are more common that we thought. The engine is also the same unit used in various Lancias and Alfa Romeos, so they probably got the 16 valve head too

from my information, the Lampredi twincam motor was only ever used in the Fiat and lancia's. 16v versions where only ever fitted the Arbath works racecars or the Lanica delta intergrale HF 16v in( east/west engine). the heads can be fitted to the north/south Fiat blocks (its been done here in OZ). both articles show only the 8v rocker covers from what can see. Also the article on the black car states that the motor was from a 1982 fiat 131 supermirafiori which i belive never came out as a 16v.
I hope we can get this sorted and the faith in the quality of the mags does not suffer.
